Dutch/Belgian district ?
hello people,
I noticed that there are many dutch players on guild wars. That is why i find it stange why there is no dutch district. It would also be good for the belgium players.
I find it strange because there are also polish, rusian, spanish and italian districts and allways they have only district 1, in events district 3 or 4.
It would be great to have a Benelux district, so people from holland and belgium and yes also for people from luxenburg. Those 3 countries are good for a lot of gw players.
Now i would like to sugest that people sign if you agree and if we got a lot of replies i can send an email to the right department of anet and maybee we can have our own distict.
I done this in english because its rude to do it in dutch.
Cheers guys

This is i think a good solution. I think that if you make a Trading District, it will be some sort of Auction District.
But a Dutch District sound a cool idea (i'm Dutch also) but won't work i think, because they want to update every quest or language to Dutch. Every Language District got their own Language in terms of quest/mission etc?

The population is scattered across multiple language districts allready... Adding a Dutch one as well is a bad idea. Population per district will go down even more.
/notsigned and I'm Dutch myself.

I'm not Dutch or Belgian but seeing as Poles, Germans, French and Russians have their own districts I can't see how this would hurt anyone.
Don't like it? Don't go there.

I remember reading once that Galie had recieved requests for like 7 different district languages over the course of a month (including Yiddish). If every language was accomidated, people would be too spread out.

Now that my friend is an AWFUL statement to make. I'm belgian, and if Anet would force me to play in french districts..well.. I'd quit! Nothing is more annoying than the French language IMO, and I'm very sure that a lot of belgian people will agree with me on this one. (well..at least the Flemish ones lol)
And: /notsigned
We all know how to speak English, so let's just do so without scattering the player base over even more districts.

true but if you knew better than you would say: +-60% speaks Dutch, +-40% speaks French and a small minority speak German. 3 official languages.
And yes its true that there are many Dutch/Flemish players in gw most likely more than Italians from what i've seen so far. And a Dutch/Flemish district would have been a nice addition to the game but adding it now is too late. This will only seperate more gw players.
so
/notsigned (im even Flemish so)

Well you can speak English,i have a talked to a ton of dutch that can speak english, so its not a problem, if they don't speak english dutch can border french/german?
technically English is not my national language either, so if they gave way for other districts they'd have to surcome to other districts diluting the playerbase to districts.
in an MMO language should be the only boundary not nationality.

I'm dutch, and I want you to rot in hell for even thinking of this (just kidding)
Seriously, I hate it whenever I meet dutch/flemish people on the internet. They rape our lovely language like there's no tomorrow. Some examples: W8 ff, trwns, hoestie, alle woorden in meervoud met een n worden verneukt and more msn crap which I just can't stand. Whole words are left behind and they just put some gibberish in the chat. For Dwayna's sake, NO! NO! NO dutch district. Also, I like my anonymousity (is that a word? I mean "being anonymous") on the net, not everyone needs to know I'm dutch. This way I avoid these things which make me a sad panda.

I beg your pardon? Dutch =/= german. I hardly even speak proper german. I agree, people could just be in the english district, but I hear people yelling at others for "not talking english" in an english district. Some people don't even speak proper english and they have a right to make friends too, so I don't know why they shouldn't make them a district. Might as well just change the name "Russian district" to "Dutch district". Problem solved. I, for myself, would mostly just stay in the english district, but it will be more populated than a Russian district.

So true. Though, that happens in every language. (Example: y u do dat?) Even english people talk like that sometimes. I see a lot of people raping french and german too. Even more reason for me to want a dutch district. ^^ Shoo shoo those people in a dark corner I won't hear them raping our language, and I'll be sitting in the english place.

Holy Arantor, dutch is nothing like german. People always make that mistake. I know, I'm dutch and had german class. German, from a dutch point of view is alot more complicated than dutch (which germans think the same of our language probably). A german talking person can not be understanded by a dutch person if they don't know the language. [email protected] who are not german/dutch saying "Are you german or somth?" when they see dutch.
